Bird about town

Things are slowly starting to turn a corner with our little bird. She started daycare last week, and her night sleep has immediately improved. They must wear her out all day long, because the past week she slept a 7.5 hour stretch (8:30 pm - 4:00 am) and an 8 hour stretch (9:00 p.m. - 5 a.m.)!

While she still has fussy days, she is getting manageable enough to take out in public. I took Wren to lunch with my old boss in Richardson Friday afternoon and we sat on the patio with little fuss. We took her to Truck Yard on Friday night and she loved being out in the fresh air and soaking up all the attention. It used to be Oscar who was the star of the show at Truck Yard - now he has to share it with his sister! :D Saturday morning we took her to brunch at The Rustic with a couple friends, and we felt more like ourselves pre-Wren. It was refreshing!

The one challenge we're facing with daycare is it's a really long commute for me to/from Carrollton with Wren crying in her car seat. We're looking for alternative daycares closer to our home, or perhaps a nanny to stay with us this summer while we wait to get in somewhere closer. Child care is so competitive in Dallas; it's impossible to get into a decent daycare without being waitlisted.

4 month photo dump

I have neglected updating Wren’s blog for several moths, so here is a huge photo dump featuring Christmas, her 3rd birthday, and first time skiing in Crested Butte. Our little one has such a funny little personality. Right now she’s really into cooking and food toys, and she’s turning out to be kind of a girly girl. She insists that everything is “pink”, and the books she picks at bedtimes are typically princess books and fairy tales. She continues to be obsessed with the big bad wolf and witches. Her favorite food is French fries, but she fortunately does a good job cleaning up her fruits and veggies too. When she turned 3, she told us she would now like to have coffee, beer and wine. 😂  She skied for the first time in Crested Butte in February with Cam’s family and loved it. She kept telling her ski instructors that she wanted to “go fast!” She loves her cousins Cash and Walker dearly and thinks they are super cool.  First date  Arboretum Christmas village  Taking...

30 weeks- it’s getting real

Friends and family: I’ve created this page to share photos and milestones of our baby girl throughout her childhood so that our loved ones can watch her grow. My hopes are she’ll also turn to this blog when she’s older to see how loved she is. Today marks 30 weeks of pregnancy! February 11 will be here before we know it, and Cam and I honestly have no idea what we’re doing. We are signed up for a Baby Basics class next week to learn how to change a diaper, swaddle, etc. I'm officially well into the baby bump. Here's me on Sept 13 (18 weeks) when I first noticed I was looking pregnant: Flash forward two weeks to Sept 26 (20 weeks): And here's Nov 10 (27 weeks), where there's little ambiguity as to whether or not I'm expecting: I've had a relatively easy pregnancy, and I'm only now starting to get bothered by fatigue and general discomfort. Baby girl's been kicking like crazy since about 17 weeks. I can't wait to meet you a...
