Milk and soy are not Wren's friends.

What a week! Last weekend, Wren got to meet several of Cam's and my best friends. We got lots of help that weekend so we could enjoy the Dallas St. Paddy's Day activities while our friends were in town. Wren appeared to be getting better and was sleeping well Friday and Saturday, but things took a turn for the worse Sunday when Wren began projectile vomiting. Her diarrhea still hadn't improved, either.:(

I took Wren back to the doctor on Wednesday and they referred me to a GI specialist. Wren definitely has a milk protein allergy, but she's also allergic to soy! There is soy in the formula we switched her to last week. We've now put her on her FOURTH formula, an amino acid-based formula, and within two days, she is getting better! Her diarrhea is gone, her rash is fading, and the vomiting has subsided. She's still pretty fussy, but she's hitting her 6-week growth spurt, so I suspect the fussing is due to her increased hunger. We hope we've found the solution for our little bird. It's been a rough 6 weeks for her.

Jennuh went back to Austin today after staying for 2 nights to help us out. Tonight Wren gets to meet her Uncle Wes and Aunt Poppy for the first time!

My solution for when Wren insists on sleeping on my chest. Hands-free mama!

Lately she only sleeps when being held. :/ Very inconvenient, but I'll do anything lately to comfort our poor baby. She's had such a rough 6 weeks!

Lake and Beach

We are certain of one thing about Wren lately - she is a water baby! The past few weeks we've taken trips to Lake Travis and to the Panama City Beach area of Florida with Wren. To say she loves the water is an understatement. We visited Lake Travis with Cam's family, where Wren took her first boat ride and swam in the lake. She was a little apprehensive at first, but then she had a blast "jumping" into the water from the boat. Lake life suited Oscar as well. Who needs a boating license? Lake life is exhausting Larry was kind enough to fly us to Florida so we didn't have to make the brutal choice of braving the COVID-19 crowds at the airport or a 14-hour car ride with a toddler. This allowed us to bring Oscar to the beach with us too! This was our third annual trip "crashing" Mark and Jordan's combined family vacation. It's a special trip for us because we love watching Mark's four niece

9 months, first haircut

Our little birdie turned 9 months last week! She is riding all around the house in her walker, climbing stairs, pushing her sit-to-stand walker around the house, and most recently, eating three meals a day. We saw her GI specialist last week and made plans to slowly reintroduce her to dairy and soy next month. If that goes well, she might soon be able to start eating off the big kids' menu at daycare. One of my favorite new parts of the day with Wren is meal time. We went to Dream Cafe on Saturday and sat on the patio with Oscar. Wren got to order "off the menu" for the first time; she ordered a side of avocado and black beans. ;) She LOVES tomatoes - I cut cherry tomatoes into little bite-sized pieces for her, and she picks them up with her fingers and shoves them into her mouth. I'm looking forward to her being more like a little girl and less of a baby.   Wren also got her first haircut last weekend! She sat on Cam's lap and laughed at herse

Milestones on Milestones

...and we're mobile. I've been trying to challenge Wren to crawl the past couple months by placing toys in front of her, and until recently, she had been hesitant and frustrated. Last Friday, she just went for it! She's officially mobile, which Cameron is not too thrilled about. :) Wren has reached several fun new milestones this month! Aside from crawling, she's standing up supported and feeding herself her bottle. I picked her up from daycare last week and she was just chillin' on a Boppy feeding herself a bottle. I looked at the teacher wide-eyed and asked, "she's feeding herself?", and she nonchalantly replied, "Oh yeah, she's been doing that for two weeks now..." I guess we've just been spoiling her too much at home. <3 Wren appears to have a boyfriend at daycare. She always appears in pictures with the same boy, Augustus, and when I joked with the teachers about it, they confirmed that she loves hanging
