Valentines Day and Mardi Gras

The past couple of weeks have been eventful at Wren's daycare. She celebrated Valentines Day and Mardis Gras in the infant room, and as of today, she is officially in the toddler room! I dropped her off with her new teacher Ms. Olga this morning and expected her to cry since she was so attached to her old teacher. Not one bit! Wren hit the ground running with her new activities and friends. I feel assured Wren is happy and safe leaving her at our daycare, and it makes the whole working mom thing a lot easier.

Wren's infant teacher Ms. Jackie is from New Orleans, so she went all out on Fat Tuesday. She asked all the parents to dress their babies in purple, green and gold, and she made a Mardis Gras float for pictures. I will miss Ms. Jackie so much - she truly cared about our little Wren.




Last Friday we drove to Austin to celebrate Mark and Jordan's upcoming daughter Brooke. Wren was the youngest at the party and the least behaved, but she had a wonderful time at Mark's sister and brother-in-law's house afterwards playing with the Keller girls.

I have neglected updating Wren’s blog for several moths, so here is a huge photo dump featuring Christmas, her 3rd birthday, and first time skiing in Crested Butte. Our little one has such a funny little personality. Right now she’s really into cooking and food toys, and she’s turning out to be kind of a girly girl. She insists that everything is “pink”, and the books she picks at bedtimes are typically princess books and fairy tales. She continues to be obsessed with the big bad wolf and witches. Her favorite food is French fries, but she fortunately does a good job cleaning up her fruits and veggies too. 11 months, first swim lesson

Wren turned 11 months last week! She is turning out to be a pretty good eater. We've slowly started reintroducing her to dairy and she seems to be tolerating it well, so fingers crossed her dairy allergy is behind her. Some of her new favorite foods are bread (who doesn't love bread, girlfriend?), turkey & dressing, tamales, grilled chicken, and her go-to favorites are still green beans, avocados and tomatoes. She even tried salmon and tilapia at lunch yesterday and enjoyed both. The only thing she's refused so far is beets. Can't really blame ya, Wren - beets are an acquired taste for most! Wren understands the concept of sharing - especially with her big brother Oscar. Sometimes she'll alternate between taking a bite of food and handing a piece to Oscar. Oscar all of a sudden is learning to tolerate Wren's hair pulling and attention hogging much better lately... Wren took her first swim lesson yesterday and really enjoyed it. Our litt...
