Wren has made it halfway around the sun! What a month it's been in terms of milestones. In the past few weeks, Wren has started solid foods, can sit up by herself for a short time, and has possibly muttered "dada" a few times.

Wren hasn't tasted a food she doesn't like yet (she takes after her mom in that area). Feeding her solid foods has been so fun the past week. She's getting the hang of the spoon, and I find pleasure in watching her explore new flavors and textures. Our GI has instructed us to wait five days after introducing a new food to make sure she doesn't have any reactions; so far Wren's eaten rice cereal, sweet potatoes and carrots.

Sweet potatoes rule. |
Cameron went to Vegas with his friends last weekend, so Wren and I spent the weekend at Babcia and Dziadziu's house. Wren's "talking" is starting to sound more and more like human speech, and my mom and I are about 90% certain she said "dada" over the weekend. She can also sit up by herself for a short time before face-planting or falling sideways. ;)

I keep thinking back to our first difficult few weeks with Wren and the hopelessness I felt. While I believed those who offered support and explained that things would get better and easier, it was difficult to see beyond the challenges we were facing at the time. Wren has brought so much joy to our lives the past few weeks. My heart bursts when she is around. Her smile and silly little giggle light up my entire day, and I often spend my time at work just smiling and thinking about our little birdie. To all the new mamas out there going through the hard days, particularly those with unique challenges like reflux and/or allergies, HANG IN THERE. Give me a call and we can talk about it! I promise there is light at the end of the tunnel.
