Happy Baby

Wren has brought so much joy the past couple of weeks. At almost six months old, she's starting to show us her personality. She is happy most of the time and gives us the sweetest smiles and giggles. She has started taking an interest in Oscar, and will extend her hand to pet him and giggle when she sees him now. It melts my heart! We've started feeding her rice cereal in the morning and she's tolerating it well. This week we're going to increase the rice cereal to twice a day, and we'll start experimenting with solid food next week.

We left her with my parents last weekend while we went to Austin for a wedding. We enjoyed being baby-free and sleeping in for two days, but I was anxious to see her by Sunday afternoon. We're so lucky to have two sets of grandparents who will gladly take care of our little birdie for us. I can't imagine doing this all by ourselves.

4 month photo dump

I have neglected updating Wren’s blog for several moths, so here is a huge photo dump featuring Christmas, her 3rd birthday, and first time skiing in Crested Butte. Our little one has such a funny little personality. Right now she’s really into cooking and food toys, and she’s turning out to be kind of a girly girl. She insists that everything is “pink”, and the books she picks at bedtimes are typically princess books and fairy tales. She continues to be obsessed with the big bad wolf and witches. Her favorite food is French fries, but she fortunately does a good job cleaning up her fruits and veggies too. 11 months, first swim lesson

Wren turned 11 months last week! She is turning out to be a pretty good eater. We've slowly started reintroducing her to dairy and she seems to be tolerating it well, so fingers crossed her dairy allergy is behind her. Some of her new favorite foods are bread (who doesn't love bread, girlfriend?), turkey & dressing, tamales, grilled chicken, and her go-to favorites are still green beans, avocados and tomatoes. She even tried salmon and tilapia at lunch yesterday and enjoyed both. The only thing she's refused so far is beets. Can't really blame ya, Wren - beets are an acquired taste for most! Wren understands the concept of sharing - especially with her big brother Oscar. Sometimes she'll alternate between taking a bite of food and handing a piece to Oscar. Oscar all of a sudden is learning to tolerate Wren's hair pulling and attention hogging much better lately... Wren took her first swim lesson yesterday and really enjoyed it. Our litt...
