Wren's first vacation

We just returned from Panama City Beach yesterday. It wasn't the relaxing type of beach vacation we were used to pre-Wren, but we're so glad we took her! Wren was surrounded by so much love from Mark and Jordan's nieces (four girls 8 and under), and it was great to share one of my favorite pastimes with her. She did great on the flight! She slept a little and chilled with minimal fuss both ways. It was such a relief and a great sign that we can take her with us on future trips. She tolerated the beach for moments at a time, but overall I think it was a little too hot for her. We'll try again next year when she's old enough to actually get in the water.

Wren slept really well on the trip - between 10 and 11 hours each night. Not sure if it's because the beach wore her out or if maybe we've finally turned a corner on the 4 month sleep regression. She's officially a roller and likes to sleep on her stomach. Fingers crossed the worst part is behind us and we can start getting consistent restful sleep again.

4 month photo dump

I have neglected updating Wren’s blog for several moths, so here is a huge photo dump featuring Christmas, her 3rd birthday, and first time skiing in Crested Butte. Our little one has such a funny little personality. Right now she’s really into cooking and food toys, and she’s turning out to be kind of a girly girl. She insists that everything is “pink”, and the books she picks at bedtimes are typically princess books and fairy tales. She continues to be obsessed with the big bad wolf and witches. Her favorite food is French fries, but she fortunately does a good job cleaning up her fruits and veggies too. When she turned 3, she told us she would now like to have coffee, beer and wine. 😂 She skied for the first time in Crested Butte in February with Cam’s family and loved it. 11 months, first swim lesson

Wren turned 11 months last week! She is turning out to be a pretty good eater. We've slowly started reintroducing her to dairy and she seems to be tolerating it well, so fingers crossed her dairy allergy is behind her. Some of her new favorite foods are bread (who doesn't love bread, girlfriend?), turkey & dressing, tamales, grilled chicken, and her go-to favorites are still green beans, avocados and tomatoes. She even tried salmon and tilapia at lunch yesterday and enjoyed both. The only thing she's refused so far is beets. Can't really blame ya, Wren - beets are an acquired taste for most! Wren understands the concept of sharing - especially with her big brother Oscar. Sometimes she'll alternate between taking a bite of food and handing a piece to Oscar.
