Things are slowly starting to turn a corner with our little bird. She started daycare last week, and her night sleep has immediately improved. They must wear her out all day long, because the past week she slept a 7.5 hour stretch (8:30 pm - 4:00 am) and an 8 hour stretch (9:00 p.m. - 5 a.m.)!
While she still has fussy days, she is getting manageable enough to take out in public. I took Wren to lunch with my old boss in Richardson Friday afternoon and we sat on the patio with little fuss. We took her to Truck Yard on Friday night and she loved being out in the fresh air and soaking up all the attention. It used to be Oscar who was the star of the show at Truck Yard - now he has to share it with his sister! :D Saturday morning we took her to brunch at The Rustic with a couple friends, and we felt more like ourselves pre-Wren. It was refreshing!
The one challenge we're facing with daycare is it's a really long commute for me to/from Carrollton with Wren crying in her car seat. We're looking for alternative daycares closer to our home, or perhaps a nanny to stay with us this summer while we wait to get in somewhere closer. Child care is so competitive in Dallas; it's impossible to get into a decent daycare without being waitlisted.
